Family Day

What a beautiful day we had, I think it got to +12 or something like that.  A perfect day to go outside and throw around the baseball or take in a game or two of basketball.  To end it off we had a weiner roast...oh the smell of fire burning with almost burnt weiners and the first sounds of sunflower seeds being cracked....and spit out!!

I know I look a little grouchy in this picture but Dale wasn't quite sure how to work my camera and I was getting frustrated, so I didn't think this picture was actually going to happen!

Here's our dog Scout.  She's 12 years old and probably on her last legs.  If any of you know her, you know what kind of personality she has...if you have a rock, stick, ball or anything in your hands and you throw it, you know that she's bringing it back to you.  Well, not this year...she has decided to sit this one out.  On a good day she might go get the ball (but very slowly) and when she brings it back to you, she sits down beside you because she needs a rest.
Not only is she getting old and can't really run anymore but she has now lost her hearing too...they say that comes with age but I didn't think that was meant for dogs as well!
I don't know what I'll do if one day she doesn't wake up...hope that day never comes :-(
